MaMaLoc-2

During a breast-conserving surgery on a breast cancer patient it is important to precisely locate the tumor, also if it can not be felt by the surgeon’s hand. All techniques available for this have disadvantages. Our research will compare these standard techniques with a new one, that is making use of magnetism to precisely locate the tumor. With this new technique, we are expecting to improve convenience for the surgeon, increase patient satisfaction and lower costs.
